OUR STORY
LeVan’s Excavating was founded in 1995, shortly after Jeremy graduated from high school. He began with small projects like land clearing and basement excavation. His first significant municipal project was the West Liberty brick sidewalk, which opened the door to more substantial opportunities.
Erin joined the business in 2001 after she and Jeremy married. While much of her work has been behind the scenes, the 23 years she has spent working alongside Jeremy have been both fulfilling and successful. Though she took on additional jobs early on, Erin eventually decided to focus on their growing family and the business after the birth of their first child.
The 2008 recession forced Jeremy and Erin to pivot, leading them to the artificial turf market, which became a cornerstone of their business. Today, they take pride in having prepared fields for stadiums such as Vandalia Butler High School, University of Akron, Bellefontaine High School, Jonathan Alder, and Bowling Green University.
In 2013, Jeremy and Erin expanded their business by creating LeVan Investments LLC, with a focus on property development. This led to the Allen Woods development in 2016, followed by Maris Park in 2018. Their collaboration with Andy Clarridge on these projects was so successful that they founded Clarridge Engineering LLC together.
Today, LeVan’s work is evenly split between the turf industry and municipal/commercial site development and utilities. In 2020, LeVan’s celebrated its 100th artificial turf project, continuing to partner with cities like Bellefontaine and West Liberty to meet their unique needs. The company attributes its success to the dedication of its family, friends, and loyal crew, which includes 17 employees — seven of whom have been with the company for over 15 years.
